Video- A Modern Day Must Have!

One category that I see brides doing without on the wedding day is video. I have heard many brides say, "I'll never watch it again!" or "Nobody wants to sit through the whole four hours of video over and over." I believe that video is an important tool to capture the essence of the wedding day. Photographs play a vital role in capturing wedding day memories, but only video can really transport you back to that exact moment when you can not only see the sights of the wedding day, but also hear the sounds and experience the wedding day.
Videography today is so much more than just setting up a tripod and filming the ceremony. Videographers capture the entire day from getting ready, to walking down the aisle to all of the traditional reception events. They can also interview your family and friends to get well wishes and advice. I personally love wedding highlight videos where the videographer will condense the whole wedding day into a short video set to music. This is the video you will watch over and over. This is what you will show your children and your grandchildren.
From my own experience, video is something that should not be spared. At my wedding, video wasn't in our budget and we thought we would just have a relative (who shall remain nameless) set up a tripod and film the ceremony. We've been married for over two years now and we still have not seen the footage to this day! Although we have some great photos form our wedding day, we don't have any video that would really transport us back to that moment. It is one of two regrets I have from my wedding day (the other to be shared in a future post!)
Don't think of video as an extra- it is a must have!
Some of my favorite videographers in San Antonio are:

You're right on Meghann. I talk to sooo many brides who originally don't see the value in video. It really isn't until after the day is over until they realize just how much it will mean to them going forward.
On a related note, I think this is the perfect example of what an experienced coordinator brings to the table. You can give advice like this that will literally pay off for the rest of their lives.
The thing is, you have these kinds of tips for every aspect of their wedding!
